This guide will explain the most common types of gift boxes and help you decide which type of presentation box design will best suit your requirements.
BOX&LID
This is most popular and cost effective style of gift box. It consists of a base with either a full or partial depth lid which can be removed entirely. We can produce to any dimensions with a lid of any depth to suit.
SHOULDER BOX
This style of box has an internal shoulder, so that the base and lid sit flush with each other. They can be constructed with either a hidden or exposed shoulder. The hidden shoulder means the shoulder is not visible until the gift box is opened. The exposed shoulder can be any height and is very effective in contrasting colour.
HINGED BOX
This style of box is similar to box & lid, except one side of the lid is hinged.
There are three kinds of those boxes:
3-SIDES HINGED LID GIFT BOX
Lid section is attached, along one side, at the TOP edge of the base with the three remaining sides overhanging the base at either a full or partial depth.

4-SIDES HINGED LID GIFT BOX
Lid section is attached, along one side, at the BOTTOM edge of the base with the three remaining sides overhanging the base at either a full or partial depth.
GIFT BOX WITH HINGED FLAP LID
This gift box has a hinge on the top or side of the base. It has also another flap on opposite side and uses a hidden magnet for secure closure.
CLAMSHELL BOX
This rigid box is similar to a gift box with a three-sided hinged lid. However, the hinge is at the bottom of the base as opposed to the top. It is usually made from a single piece of board and is often used for media presentation.
BOOKSTYLE BOX
The bookstyle presentation box, as suggests, is finished to look like a book. It incorporates a flip or double flip lid with a selection of shutting clasps or magnets.
RIGID SLIPCASE
Rigid slipcases are used as a high quality protective cover for a book, document or CD/DVD set.
